Liguria, hunting calendar approved, hunting starts from 15 September

Green light from the Ligurian regional council, on the proposal of the vice president and regional councilor for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing, for the 2024/2025 hunting calendar. The provision will be in force from 15 September 2024 to 30 January 2025 indicating the species that can be hunted and the periods, the hunting days, the maximum daily game bag, the legal start and end times of the hunt.

The wild boar hunt starts on October 2nd

“The hunting calendar – explains the Councilor for Agriculture and Hunting – is in continuity with that of the previous year, indicating the opening of hunting on 15 September for species such as the hare, the red partridge, the pheasant and the partridge , the blackbird, the song thrush and wood pigeon, most of the aquatic species. The expected closures are: January 20th for the redwing, fieldfare and aquatic species, January 30th for the wood pigeon, song thrush, black crow, hooded crow, jay and magpie. The careful regulation moves in the direction of respect for our habitat and for the protection of agriculture by counteracting damage from wildlife. The planned activity, carried out in compliance with the rules, does not alter the natural balance of our region”.

Collective hunting of wild boar, on the basis of the defined harvesting quotas and until they are exhausted, is scheduled from 2 October to 20 December 2024. The application of the regional hunting calendar on the huntable territory will be subordinated to measures to combat the spread of the African swine fever virus.
