One person lost his life in the accident on the A1 between San Vittore and Caianello. The VdF note

This is the press note released by the Fire Brigade: “This afternoon, around 2.30 pm, two teams of Fire Brigades, one coming from the Teano detachment, for the Caserta Command, and one coming from the Cassino detachment, for the Frosinone Command intervened on the A1 motorway between the toll booths – we read in the press release – of San Vittore and Caianello… in the direction of Naples due to a road accident with four trucks involved. The Fire Brigade arrived immediately on site had to rescue various people who, following the collision between the vehicles, were injured including one person, the driver of one of the trucks, who was stuck between the sheets of metal after an elaborate work and with the help of specific cutting equipment for this type of intervention, the firefighters managed to free the man from the sheets of metal, handing him over – we read again – to the care of 118 present on site with various ambulances and an air ambulance for the most serious cases . Unfortunately, the trapped driver was found dead and one was rushed to hospital. Two cranes also intervened on site to support the rescue operations, one from the Caserta Command and one from the Frosinone Command. Traffic on the road is still – concludes the statement – blocked due to investigations by the traffic police and the findings of the case”.
