THE “SABATO A TEATRO” REVIEW CLOSES WITH THE “CANTO DELL’IRA” DIRECTED BY ELENA DRAGONETTI

The national premiere of the show written by Carlo Orlando, which mixes acting and dance, with choreographies by Serena Loprevite, will debut at the Sala Mercato on 23 and 24 April.

GENOA – Saturday 20 April at 7.30pm at the Market Hall debuts in the national premiere Song of Wrathwritten by Carlo Orlando and directed by Elena Dragonetti. The show, also on stage on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 April, mixes acting and dance, with choreographies by Serena Lopreviteto tell, in the wake of the epic poem ofIliad, the last days of a contemporary conflict and the bitter fate that unites conquerors and conquered. The events of the Trojan War are intertwined with stories of other men, myths and gods, on a journey in search of the heroes who live among us today.

The actors are the protagonists Paolo Li Volsi, Virginia Campolucci And Antonio D’Angelo. On stage with them is a group of boys and girls: some (Marianna Botticella, Carlo Froi, Elia Marchetti, Pietro Muzzini, Margherita Squillari and Alessandro Zichichi) already protagonists of What’s left of the fire, a show applauded last season, born from a workshop on the historical legacy of the Genoese G8 among the new generations. Others from Ligurian high schools (Lorenzo Barberis, Cecilia Bettuzzi, Oleg Lorenzo Bruno, Emma Croce, Lorenzo Dellacasa, Lorenzo Modugno, Lukas Mone, Anthony Muhaj, Nicolò Pescia, Samuele Piscioneri, Greta Simonetta, Elio Sinani). A heterogeneous group that has shared a path of theatrical creation, in a continuous exchange between experience and freshness, professionalism and instinct.

«In a time in which we fight wars through people, protecting ourselves from the perception of reality – states director Elena Dragonetti – we want to return to the Homeric song of the tragic unfolding of violence, of the moment in which the awareness of having been nailed down by destiny reduces the delirium of power turns to ashes and makes winners and vanquished children of the same misery.”

Song of Wrath is part of the project The age of fire that the National Theater of Genoa dedicates itself to adolescence, a special, delicate phase of life with extraordinary potential.

The project started with a laboratory in which the following schools participated: “Giuseppe Mazzini” Classical and Linguistic High School, IISS “E. Montale – New IPC”, “Piero Gobetti” State High School, “Colombo” Classical and Linguistic High School, IS “Einaudi, Casaregis, Galilei”, “Luigi Lanfranconi” State High School, IPSIS “Gaslini Meucci”, IIS “Italo Calvino”, High School State University “Sandro Pertini”, IIS “Majorana Giorgi”

Song of Wrath it is performed on Saturday at 7.30 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8.30 pm. The show is also presented in matinees for schools on 19, 22, 23 and 24 April.
