On the road to the approval of legislation on medically assisted suicide in Liguria, Linea Shared is organizing a public event on Tuesday 23 April at 5.30 pm, at the Eugenio Montale Auditorium of the Carlo Felice Theatre.

The professor Vladimir Zagrebelskymagistrate and former Italian judge of the European Court of Human Rights, will hold a lectio magistralis together with the interventions of Filomena Gallo, national secretary of the “Luca Coscioni” Association, Roberto D’Andrea, lawyer and doctoral student in Criminal Law at the High School Sant’Anna of Pisa, and Maria Silvia Vaccarezza, professor of moral philosophy at the University of Genoa. Everything will be moderated by Gianni Pastorino, group leader of Linea Shared and first signatory of the regional law proposal.

“We want to follow up on the ruling of the Constitutional Court number 242 of 2019 (the Cappato – Antoniani case) – comments Gianni Pastorino – Up to now the debate within the Council bodies has been correct, constructive and positive. At a national level the Parliament does not decide – Pastorino remarks – today those who want to request voluntary medically assisted death are hindered by the local health authorities and hospitals. Here in Liguria I am the first signatory of a law, signed by many other colleagues, by eleven opposition colleagues out of twelve and. it is finding various openings even among the majority.”
