A 14-year-old girl who had a heart problem yesterday after the stabbing of two girls outside a school in Souffelveyersheim, in eastern France, Alsace, has died. The local authorities made this known this morning, explaining that the victim suffered cardiac arrest during the excited moments following the stabbing of the girls, aged 6 and 11. The girl was immediately helped by the teachers but in the late afternoon she died, according to the principal, Olivier Faron.
The knife attack occurred yesterday around 2pm in Souffelweyersheim, a French town located in the Bas-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region. Two girls aged 6 and 11 were stabbed and injured by a 29-year-old man, who was promptly stopped and arrested. The young victims were then rescued and transported to hospital, where they are still hospitalized in medium serious conditions.
According to what has been ascertained, the attack occurred at two different times in the early afternoon yesterday, between 2.00 pm and 2.20 pm. A man, unknown to the policefirst stabbed the 11-year-old, who was in front of the Dannenberger public school with other young students, then the 6-year-old girl in a nearby clearing.
