Fire risk, lighting fires prohibited from 15 May to 31 October, the Mayor of Canicattini Bagni Paolo Amenta signs the ordinance – BlogSicilia

From 15 May to 31 October 2024 it is strictly forbidden in the territory of the Municipality of Canicattini Bagni to light fires and burn plant material in the land, to use open flame or electric appliances that produce sparks, and to carry out any other operation that could start or spread fire .

This is what is provided for in ordinance no. 8 of 17 April 2024 signed by the Mayor Paolo Amenta in order to prevent the risk of fires throughout the summer season, as indicated by regional legislation.

Not only that, but all owners or managers of uncultivated agricultural areas, uncultivated urban green areas, the owners of villas and buildings with adjoining green areas, those responsible for construction sites, hospitality and artisan facilities are also obliged to and commercial buildings, to ensure the cleaning of the aforementioned areas, by eliminating brushwood and anything that could constitute a probable fire outbreak, as well as the creation of fire avenues at least three meters wide, on lands measuring more than 1000 m2. 3,000, maintaining safety conditions for the entire period of maximum risk identified by the Region from 15 May to 31 October 2024.

Burning is permitted, with the exception of hot and windy days outside the period 15 May – 31 October, of plant material deriving from mowing and pruning as per agricultural practices or brush clearing, in small piles and in daily quantities not exceeding at three sterile meters per hectare, exclusively from 05.30 to 08.30 and from 18.00 to 21.30, only within perimeter areas with the supervision of at least one operator and until the flames are completely extinguished and embers.

Anyone who contravenes the provisions set out in the union ordinance will be sanctioned according to current legislation.
