Found dead at home for ten days

Rimini, 19 April 2024 – A neighbor raised the alarm. For too long, at least ten days, the other condominium owners had no news of Carlo Boschetti83 years old, resident in an apartment on the first floor of a building in via Felici, a side street of via Covignano. Boschetti, generally a very habitual person, used to always go out and come back at the same times, but for several days he seemed to have completely disappeared into thin air. For this reason the neighbor decided to alert 112. Yesterday morning, the macabre discovery: the pensioner’s lifeless body was lying in the living room.

To destroy it, in all probability, an illness who would have caught him while he was busy hanging out clothes. His apartment was perfectly tidy and locked from the inside. During the inspection carried out by the Rimini police officers, no signs of forced entry emerged that could suggest an intrusion from the outside. Scientific police specialists and the medical examiner also intervened in via Felici and carried out an initial cadaveric examination. Death, according to what emerged, it would have occurred due to natural causes, probably already a few days ago. The 83-year-old lived alone in the family apartment. He was known in via Felici by many residents, although he was a very reserved and introverted person. The last contact between him and his family, who do not live in Rimini, occurred about a month ago and since then there had been no more phone calls or messages with his next of kin.

Once the alarm was raised yesterday morning, a police patrol from the Rimini Police Headquarters rushed to the scene. The officers knocked on the pensioner’s door several times, but received no response and were asked to do so the intervention of fire brigade personnel. The firefighters then forced the door of the apartment on the first floor, entering the house. Boschetti’s body was found in the living room, where the man would have been taken by illness which unfortunately left him no escape.

All the rooms appeared to be perfectly tidy. The 83-year-old lived in a well-kept and well-kept home. No elements were found that could suggest an attempted break-in by external persons. “Carlo – explains a resident – he had lived here practically forever. He was a man who had his habits, I chatted with him every now and then on the landing or we saw each other at condominium meetings. He seemed like a man in good physical shape, what happened really left us speechless.” An autopsy will be carried out to ascertain the causes of death, which however appears to be attributable to natural factors.
