Diocesan service for the protection of minors and vulnerable people

What is the Diocesan Minor Protection Service?
It has the task of collaborating closely with the Bishop in fulfilling his pastoral responsibilities in the field of protection of minors and vulnerable people.

How is the Diocesan Minor Protection Service structured?
– Study group with pastoral and psycho-pedagogical skills
– Listening point in a reserved and protected environment
– Working group with pastoral, psychological and legal skills
Areas of Intervention
– Prevention (information and training) with the aim of consolidating a culture of care and custody of the minor at the service and in collaboration with all those who deal with minors
– To receive any reports
– Intervention and treatment of cases with the priority of ensuring the safety and well-being of the minor

Whose protection?
Minor. This means any person under the age of 18. In canon law, a person who habitually has an imperfect use of reason is equated to a minor.
Vulnerable person. This means any person in a state of infirmity, physical or mental disability, or deprivation of personal freedom which in fact, even occasionally, limits their ability to understand and will or in any case to resist the offense.
Taking care of the smallest and weakest means orienting:
– your own heart,
– Your own gaze,
– One’s work in favor of the smallest and most defenseless, in a co-responsibility of the community.
