That day “some things surprised me – Belardinelli said in court –. Giampaolo said that there were vultures in the house from which he had to defend himself. I expected everything to be concentrated about Isabella’s death and not on other things. This was my feeling, I just wanted to know what had happened. I only spoke to Giampaolo when I arrived at their house, and he told me a few words about the people who were sitting on the sofa. I don’t remember who they were, they were two or three women.”

Belardinelli, before the Court of Assizes presided over by judge Pier Luigi Di Bari, also recalled that Amato told her to wanting to cremate his wife“but Isabella had never expressed these intentions – said the witness – and then it seemed to me to clash with the drama of the moment. Amato spoke to me about the cremation”.

The doctor also confirmed that Lsala told her in 2019 that he had discovered the extramarital relationship of her husband and that this had upset her.

During the hearing, other prosecution witnesses were also heard, including Lieutenant Colonel Giada Furlan, commander of the chemical, explosives and flammable section of the Parma Ris. Furlan explained how they were carried out the analyzes on the bottle taken and stored by Lsala’s sister in 2019, after a dinner at the end of which her sister felt very weak and tired. Bottle then analyzed on March 5, 2022 and from which traces of Midazolam emerged.

Precisely on the evening of February 23, 2019 “we were having dinner together and Isa told me that Giampaolo had taken a very painful blood sample from her. But he said it wasn’t true. But she was very tired, he couldn’t keep his eyes open, she couldn’t hold the cutlery, she was very sleepy. He had difficulty putting food in his mouth,” said Paola Nicoli, friend of Isabella Lsala and Giampaolo Amato, who was also heard before the judge.

The lover

Today in the Assize Court, he also testified the civil lawyer Rosângela Di Nocco, friend of Isabella Lsalata. Di Nocco retraced his close relationship with the victim and said that on 27 July 2020 he had a fellow lawyer send, at the request of Isabella Lsala, a letter of formal notice to the woman with whom Amato was having a relationship and who for some time For some time she insistently contacted both her friend and her daughter. “Isabella told me that he couldn’t stand it anymore, calling her and texting her continuously also at Daughter and that this bordered on the persecutory acts” he testified.
