Drugs, cell phones and weapons, classic “supply” for prisoners, but this time, from behind bars, someone had evidently made a more particular request: he wanted a tattoo machine, which he would probably then power using a few batteries and cables. The delivery was destined for the Carinola prison, in the province of Caserta, but this time it was blocked by the Penitentiary Police, who noticed the drone and managed to stop the two men who were operating it while a woman, who was waiting for them in the car, she managed to escape.

The system was also used on a large scale by the group dismantled a few weeks ago by the Frosinone Flying Squad: the prohibited objects, whether drugs or weapons (or other, as in this case) are delivered directly inside the prison using drones and they are left in common areas where the waiting inmate will then go to collect them. The latest kidnapping was announced by Tiziana Guacci and Ettore Natalerespectively regional secretary for Campania and local secretary of Carinola for Sappe.

In the package, they explain, there were 1.8 kilos of hashish, several doses of cocaine, 10 handsets, 10 smartphones, a switchblade and the tattoo machine. The general secretary of the union, Donato Capeceunderlines how this last episode “confirm all the investigative hypotheses regarding the now well-known phenomenon of illicit trafficking by means of drones, a phenomenon also favored by the freedom of movement of prisoners following the open custody regime and the current operational criticalities, in which the Penitentiary Police operates, with levels safety minimums“.
