106 new officials hired by the Sicilian Region signed the contract yesterday morning with the scrolling of the competition rankings banned in 2022 for generational replacement.

At the headquarters of the Public Service department in Palermo, the President of the Region welcomed the new employees who will enter into service on June 3rd, once the registration procedures for employment contracts have been completed. The governor also thanked the staff of the Civil Service Department for having accelerated the necessary bureaucratic times. Also present were the councilor and the general manager of the department. The scrolling of the rankings approved between August and October 2022 for 216 places was necessary to fill, albeit partially, the staff shortage in various roles of the regional administration. There were 146 eligible people who had sent the necessary documentation for hiring within the deadline and who had been called to sign the contracts. 7 lawyers signed the contract today (11 positions available); 13 out of 17 agronomists; 39 administrative officials (out of 107); 8 computer scientists (out of 25) and 39 engineers (out of 56). 7 workers from the so-called protected categories were also hired. 40, however, did not show up for the call or withdrew at the moment of signing.

A new scrolling of the rankings will be carried out after the approval of the Region’s final account for completion of the remaining 110 commissionings.
