PALERMO – Accident last night in the Carini ring road (Palermo), along Via Don Sturzo where two cars collided with a truck. Two people who were in a car were transported to hospital with a red code by the 118 health workers.
Three other injured people were transported to hospital and are not in serious condition. The firefighters intervened and had to work all night to clear the road: the truck broke through the guardrail and remained balanced on the bridge. The police carried out the investigations.
Entrepreneurs: the roads in the industrial area are terrible
“The coordination of entrepreneurs in the Carini area has repeatedly denounced the danger of Via Luigi Sturzo, main artery of the industrial agglomeration where around 200 companies are based, as well as several homes and a nursery school, and where therefore many workers, residents and children go every day. We are tired of risking our lives every time we go to work and for this reason, once again, we find ourselves arguing that the redevelopment of the area can no longer wait. The conditions of the roads in the agglomeration are terrible, maintenance has been absent in recent years and potholes abound. It is therefore necessary to intervene as soon as possible. Furthermore, common sense when driving should never be disregarded.” This is what President Giuseppe Pezzati, who represents the entrepreneurs of the industrial area, says after the accident which involved a truck and two cars and paralyzed the area for hours.
