Sermoneta, leans on a pole and receives an electric shock: a 14-year-old is saved

It was a moment of distraction that had serious consequences for a 14-year-old boy on Saturday evening in Sermoneta Scalo. While he was leaning against a video surveillance pole, he was hit by a strong electric shock. Fortunately, a man present at the scene intervened promptly and decisively, pushing the boy away from the pole with a strong push, probably using his foot and benefiting from rubber-soled shoes.

The young man was immediately rescued and taken to Latina hospital, where he was treated for a broken arm and kept under observation. The following day, the parents reported the incident to the police, who started the necessary investigations together with the Municipality of Sermoneta and the technicians responsible for electrical maintenance.

A malfunction was found in the electrical structure the boy was leaning on, and the power to the pole was immediately cut off to avoid further danger. The mayor of Sermoneta, Giuseppina Giovannoli, declared that it is essential to clarify what happened and guarantee public safety by starting checks on the entire video surveillance system and public lighting.

The technical intervention was necessary to reactivate the video surveillance camera in complete safety, and now the main objective is to verify that there are no further dispersions and to guarantee public safety.
