Erica Antonelli: “Profitable meeting with Camilla Laureti”

“Agriculture is an important sector for our territory and we increasingly need competent and present interlocutors”. The PD city councilor declared it Erica Antonelliwho accompanied the national PD agriculture manager and European parliamentarian, Camilla Lauretito visit the Testa di Lepre Cooperative and meet some local farmers.

“The Roman Etruscan Biodistrict and the companies I visited – declared Camilla Laureti – represent a perfect synthesis between agriculture, livestock farming and environmental conservation. Sustainable development is, in fact, the challenge we must overcome. Ecological conversion is an opportunity for farmers and breeders, who must be supported so that the transition is just. The farmers in Torre in Pietra confirmed what I have been saying for a long time: it is urgent to guarantee the right income to those who produce what we eat and on which our health depends. We need a fair price law on the French model, which guarantees farmers the right profit. We must also ensure that European CAP funds reach all farmers, especially small and medium-sized ones, and for this reason too we must simplify the procedures for obtaining them” underlined Laureti.

“A fruitful meeting – commented councilor Erica Antonelli – to address the problems of the sector together. I thank the President, Mario Palone, for welcoming us to the Testa di Lepre Cooperative and the President of the Biodistrict, Massimiliano Mattiuzzo, for opening the doors of local organic companies. Good politics always comes through knowledge and dialogue,” concluded PD city councilor Erica Antonelli.
