This morning we wrote to you that the meeting scheduled at Mimit for April 2 to discuss the future of the plant Stellantis Melfi it had been moved to May 3 to avoid overlapping with the regional elections in Puglia. The news was reported by many important media including Rai itself. Now, however, a few minutes ago the reverse gear arrived the table on the automotive at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy will be held on April 2 as originally announced.

The specific Roman table on the San Nicola di Melfi plant with Stellantis will therefore be held at the Ministry on April 2nd at 11am. In fact, the decision to postpone the meeting to the beginning of May had provoked an indignant reaction from all the unions who immediately wanted to clarify the situation of the factory whose future still hovers with many uncertainties in light of the recent redundancies announced by the automotive group through the instrument of incentivized exit. We will therefore see what emerges regarding the future of Stellantis Melfi where production will soon cease Fiat 500X and then to follow also that of Jeep Renegade and Compass in favor of four or five electric cars which, however, should not be enough to guarantee full employment of the production site.
In a few days therefore we will know what Stellantis has to say about this factory which until recently was considered the flagship of the group in Italy and in the world and which is now experiencing a lot of uncertainty.
