The Lyceum De Sanctis-Galilei by Manduria (Taranto), with the investigation ‘Under the surface’, interviews on gender violence, won the section schools of the VIII edition of the Alessandro prize Leogrande 2024, dedicated to the journalist and writer who died prematurely.

Yesterday the final ceremony at the Fusco theater in Taranto. The journalism and civil commitment prize was awarded to Francesca Coin with the book «Le grandi dimissioni» (Einaudi). The 19 schools that joined the ‘Tell me about journalism’ project produced an investigation/narrative reportage after following a masterclass by Annalisa Camilli who decreed that of the De Sanctis-Galilei high school in Manduria as the best work. The boys of the 4CS (scientific address, Agnusdei Danilo, Brunetti Antonio, Buccoliero Cristiano, Caprimo Gianpaolo, Dimagli Sara, Dimitri Ginevra, Guarino Eleonora, Leo Raffaele, Mandurino Michele, Margarita Carlo, Mazza Aurora, Montalbano Francesca, Palazzo Sofia, Pedone Lorenzo, Perrucci Sofia, Pesare Maria Dolores, Santoro Idilia Rosa, Scaglioso, Angelo, Tripaldi Lucia) participated in the various activities envisaged by the project and in particular Antonio Brunetti and Lucia Tripaldi produced four interviews anonymously, highlighting, with the formula of investigation, the aspects of gender violence.

«Our participation in the 2024 Leogrande Prize – explained the school director Maria Maddalena di Maglie – was guided by the desire to honor Leogrande’s legacy, exploring pressing current issues such as gender violence». For teacher Stefania Maiorano, coordinator of the project, “this award confirms the educational value of initiatives that allow students to interface with complex realities, developing critical thinking and an active commitment towards the improvement of society”.
