The tariff concessions relating to the supply of energy for the populations affected by the exceptional meteorological events of November 2023 have been extended until 2 May. The Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment (Arera), as the Region reminds us, has recently approved the decides that extends the suspension of payment terms for invoices relating to the supply of electricity, gas and integrated water service to 6 months (including invoices relating to connection, activation, deactivation, transfer and takeover of utilities) starting from 2 November 2023.

With the same resolution, at the end of the suspension period, the possibility of installment of the amounts due. The installment payment may have the same periodicity as ordinary invoicing and may extend for a maximum of 12 months from the end of the suspension, with installments of no less than 20 euros each.

Again, only for the water service, for the beneficiaries identified by the extraordinary emergency commissioner all costs of increased consumption of water resources will effectively be eliminated for the period immediately following the floods of autumn 2023. In practice, by virtue of this decision, in the territories managed by Publiacqua, Acque and Asa, the consumption of those who were victims of the flood will be brought back to the historical cost of the bills.

“Following the requests of the Region and the extraordinary commissioner for the emergency – explain the president of Tuscany Eugenio Giani and the councilor for civil protection Monia Monni – Arera has extended the suspension of invoicing for six months to Tuscany and the municipalities affected by the bad weather last November, as already done for the flood victims of Emilia-Romagna. We trust that this represents concrete help for the many citizens severely affected by these events and that the possibility of paying the amounts due in installments at the end of the suspension will further contribute to making this burden more tolerable”.

Managers will be required to communicate both the extension of the suspension and the possibility of installment payments via their web channels.
