It will be a happy Easter for the family of the 17-year-old who passed away on March 21st Colic, in the Lecco area. The young man was found this morning, Friday 29 March, at Milan Central Station: two people recognized him, the 17-year-old was doing a ticket home. “We are very happy: Edoardo is well”, these are the first words of the parents after hugging their son. “We will all spend an Easter together“.

How the 17-year-old was found

“The boy – as he explains Marco Fazio of the Railway Police – was found at a quarter to eight in the Mosaic tunnel, the one before entering the platform area. Between gate A and gate B: a couple of travelers recognized it and immediately contacted us. The young man was buying a ticket for Colico. Our patrols present at the station intervened immediately: the 17-year-old was approached and reassured before taking him to our offices. A very short time later his parents arrived and hugged him“.

All the necessary investigations are being carried out in the Polfer offices. It is not yet known why the young man left home: one of the hypotheses is that he wanted to reach Eastern Europe, but nothing is certain and now the boy will talk to the family.

The 17-year-old who disappeared from Colico on March 21 has been found: he was in the Central station in Milan

The first words of the 17 year old’s parents after hugging him again

“We still don’t know – explains the 17-year-old’s father – what he has done in recent days. But now we care less. We thank everyone: from the police to the schools and the whole country, including you journalists, who gave space to the news on the research. But now we ask you for a little peace of mind for the next few days.”

Then the parent added: “Yesterday my wife told me that she felt calm, so it was the first night that I slept for a week. Then today Edoardo told us that just yesterday at 8 he had bought the ticket to Colico“. The 17-year-old’s mother specified: “A mother feels these things.”

The 17-year-old’s grandfather: “It’s the end of a nightmare”

The young man’s grandfather finally breathed a sigh of relief on Mattino Cinque: “It’s the end of a nightmare, of a series of concerns. We are very happy that everything ended in the best way. I can’t wait to hug him and resume that dialogue that was interrupted for eight days.”

Then he added: “We will try to understand the reasons for the gesture and we will help him to resume his activity as a student and to reintegrate into the school where he was happy, he did well. As we have always done, we will be patient grandparents and attentive to his development as a man. I feel happy. I’m very happy, I’m waiting for it. I can’t wait to hug him.”

For the grandparents there are no doubts: “In agreement with my son and my daughter-in-law we thought about a gesture that shows discomfort that we have not understood a desire to assert himself in some way, a gesture of symbolic maturation. But he will explain it to us.” This morning the good news: “This morning my wife called me and said ‘Franco I’m dreaming, Alessandro called me that they’re going to get Edoardo’ and that’s when the world and our perspective changed. We are back to life.”

“I think he will be very distraught. When he wants, calmly, where we adults have failed and where perhaps he found it difficult to express what he felt inside. We have all asked ourselves that”, concluded the grandparents.
