Accidents at work represent an ever current and dramatic issue. The latest episode occurred on Tuesday at Settimo Torinese, where a 53 year old worker he got stuck in a machine during some maintenance work.
The man, resident in Caluso and employee of a company in Milan, was carrying out maintenance operations at DHL of Settimo Torinese when the accident took place. Colleagues immediately alerted 112 and 118, the Carabinieri of the Chivasso company and the SPRESAL of ASL TO4 intervened on site. After the first treatments, the worker was transported to Maria Vittoria hospital. Fortunately, his condition does not appear serious.
Investigations into the incident are underway and the competent bodies will have to establish the responsibilities and any negligence. But this incident, like many others, emphasizes the importance of constant monitoring of safety conditions in the workplace and on the need for greater awareness among companies and workers on these issues.
