Last two performances for “La fanciulla del West”, the new staging of Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece that the Teatro Regio wanted to dedicate to the composer on the centenary of his death. A tribute to the innovator of the musical language, who narrated western cinema through opera, created for the occasion with a show signed by the Argentine Valentina Carrasco which mixes the languages. So music and singing are combined with backstage secrets and cameras that film what happens on stage in real time.

Friday 29th and Tuesday 2nd at 8pm in the room in Piazza Castello the story of Minnie, the girl of the title, an energetic and generous young woman who manages the saloon of a gold prospectors’ village in California, will be presented. Francesco Ivan Ciampa will take the podium of the Orchestra and Choir of the Regio, while the protagonist will be a large cast with the soprano Oksana Dyka in the role of Minnie, the baritone Massimo Cavalletti as the bandit Johnson and the tenor Amadi Lagha as Sheriff Jack Rance.
