GENOA – The Liguria Region reminds you that 31 March 2024 is the deadline for the annual renewal of ticket exemption certificates. It is possible to renew the exemption even after March 31, 2024; in particular, you can request the renewal of the certificate directly when a medical request is needed. Please remember that it is not necessary to go to the counters on the day of the deadline, as the necessary requirements for the right to exemption must exist at the time of the doctor’s prescription.
The deadline does not apply to people over 65 and children under six, for which the Region has decided to automatically extend the validity of the certificates with unchanged income conditions. Their exemption certificate (identifiable with the code E01) is valid indefinitely, so they can continue to use it.
If income conditions change during the year, and the limit established by law is exceeded, you are no longer entitled to the exemption and you must report the change to your local health authority as soon as possible by completing the revocation of the income exemption certificate form. In fact, each local health authority carries out checks on the veracity of self-certifications. In case of false declaration, the unpaid amounts for the services provided are recovered and the administrative sanctions provided for by current legislation are applied.
