Apsp: Councilor Tonina’s visits to Riva del Garda and Dro yesterday. The visits to public personal services companies that the councilor for health and social policies, Mario Tonina, is carrying out in Trentino continue, to get to know the different realities that deal with the elderly. Yesterday councilor Tonina was in Alto Garda, first at the APSP Città di Riva, then at the APSP Residenza Molino di Dro; Present for the health company were the director for organizational clinical support for RSAs Sergio Minervini, the director of the Southern District Luca Fabbri and the director of the Southern District Basic Health Services Organization Unit Carmela Scozzafava, as well as Marcello Guidi of the Provincial Policy Service healthcare and for non-self-sufficiency.

In Riva del Garda the councilor was welcomed by the president of the APSP Città di Riva, Lucio Matteotti, with the director Davide Preti, together with the other representatives of the board of directors, among those present also the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Riva Silvia Betta, while in Dro there were the president Vittorio Fravezzi with the deputy director Marco Cova and the board of directors, as well as the mayor Cladio Mimiola; Michela Capelli from the Southern District Primary Care Unit was also there for the APSS.

“These meetings and visits respond to the need to have an overall picture of the structures in the area and their requests and critical issues, in order to be able to plan, because to respond to specific needs and requests a perspective vision is needed – commented councilor Tonina -. It is essential to understand how to plan the policies of the future to guarantee positive impacts in particular with respect to two issues that will be crucial in the coming years, namely the progressive aging of the population and the birth rate; we must then commit ourselves to prevention, to promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles. And I believe that in this, Trentino, thanks also to its special autonomy, will be able to prove itself once again as a cutting-edge territory, offering innovative services and solutions, capable of creating synergy and networks between different communities and subjects, I am thinking for example of the Spazio Argento project and other virtuous solutions that intercept new emerging needs”, concluded councilor Tonina who wanted to sincerely thank the staff who work within the structures and their extraordinary commitment, in particular during the two years of the pandemic.

In Riva del Garda, president Matteotti and director Preti illustrated the peculiarities of the APSP which manages the RSA with 86 beds, the day center with 15 places, the service centre, as well as around 120 home-delivered meals in the territory of three municipalities, in addition to the 22 apartments of Casa Mielli, located in front of the Rsa and in constant dialogue with the structure. The APSP, which employs around 120 people, has started important maintenance and renovation works on its structures, including in particular the former civil hospital pavilion which is currently a separate headquarters of the Maffei high school; furthermore, together with the other 3 public personal service companies in the area, it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Community of Valle in the field of non-self-sufficiency and other services in the area, including meals at home. During the meeting, the “Cittadella dell’Accoglienza” was also discussed, a work that has reached its final stages (the works should be completed in May), the total amount of which is equal to 13.4 million euros, of which almost 12.3 paid by the Province. On this match, councilor Tonina expressed openness and willingness to re-discuss the terms of last autumn’s agreement, based on the requests made during the session and on new needs that have recently emerged.

In Dro, president Fravezzi together with deputy director Cova showed councilor Tonina the structure opened a few years ago, which welcomes 60 guests, compared to 45 in the old headquarters, a cutting-edge building in which around sixty employees work in different roles. Among the requests presented was that of tenders for the purchase of equipment to be used for the structure, on which councilor Tonina explained how resources will be available for the budget adjustment, and a dedicated tender will also be launched shortly. The desire of the Municipality and APSP to recover the old RSA, in co-ownership, on which the Municipality has identified some resources and participated in a tender linked to the programming of the PNRR was then illustrated: in this sense, councilor Tonina assured a brief in-depth meeting.
