“Today we exchange”

Great success for the initiative “Today we exchange!” promoted by Assa on the occasion of World Earth Day. On Saturday 20 April, five hundred people took part in the day of free exchange of still usable goods which took place in the area adjacent to the Ecological Island of Via Sforzesca.
An event that has reached its sixth edition and which recorded a significant number of attendees.
This is a sign of the growing enthusiasm in the possibility of guaranteeing a new life to assets that are still in good condition and functioning.
«It was a beautiful day – underlines the general director of Assa, Alessandro Battaglino – An initiative that contributed to promoting the circular economy and spreading ever greater environmental awareness, with a view to indicating new consumption and reduce waste production. An event that is fully included in the G7 Climate, Energy and Environment which will take place at the Reggia di Venaria from 28 to 30 April.

Our thanks go to all the participants for understanding and sharing the values of the Day and also for having pleasantly played our quiz: a contest to guess (or get as close as possible) the number of batteries contained in a sealed container.
The stacks contained in the container of the proposed game were 694 and the game identified by the code “159” which indicated 700 stacks won.
I thank – concluded Battaglino – the Novara Green and Pro Natura Novara associations for their participation.
We look forward to meeting everyone at the next edition, the autumn one, which will be held on the occasion of the European Waste Reduction Week.”

Particularly exciting fourth edition of “Oggi si Scambia!”, the exchange day organized by Assa which on Saturday 6 May saw over three hundred people converge in the area adjacent to the Ecological Island of Via Sforzesca.

Various objects, all in excellent condition, brought for the exchange: from Capodimonte to paintings, from dinner sets to cookware, to small household appliances, to books and clothing. There was no shortage of curious/unusual objects such as a ceramic sink column, a hatbox, car sunshades and car roof rack bars.
All the participants expressed their happiness and satisfaction, including the many children and young people present: among the latter there were those who found soft toys, games, boxing gloves, books, and those who took fins home thinking about the next swims in the sea, those who started playing in the greenery with the new games they acquired after leaving theirs for other children and those who tried their hand at making a puzzle while patiently waiting for their parents to visit the “market”.
The Assa employees who voluntarily contributed to the success of the day were the recipients not only of compliments for the organization but also of requests that the initiative be repeated soon.
«Today’s numbers tell us how and to what extent the initiative is appreciated and is becoming increasingly popular», commented the president of Assa, Yari Negri, who took part in the day.

«For us it can only be a source of great satisfaction – added the President – We thank Novara Green and Pro Natura Novara for having shared and taken part in the event which, we remember, aims to promote new behaviors and new consumption habits, encouraging both the reuse of everyday goods is greater environmental awareness”.
Assa offered all participants a small sweet snack in the spirit of Novara with Novara biscuits.
The event was organized on the occasion of Earth Day, established to highlight the need to conserve natural resources and promote the protection of the planet.
New initiatives and new events are being organized for the next Environment Day (5 June).
