The Regional Council, on the proposal of councilor Marco Scajola, today approved the Strategic Environmental Assessment (VAS) of the urban and territorial variations necessary for the location of the new Taggia hospital, certifying its environmental compatibility.

This is a variation to the general master plan of the Municipality of Taggia, which will reclassify the areas in which the construction of the hospital complex is planned, and one to the territorial landscape coordination plan.
The new structure, which will provide the Province of Imperia with a first-level health facility, will be built on areas of approximately 130 thousand square meters located north of the current Taggia railway station.

This is a further important step forward for the construction of the hospital – declares the President of the Region Giovanni Toti – which is part of the broader plan for the renewal of the hospital network in Liguria. The objective is to start the tender for the technical-economic feasibility plan by August so as to arrive in one year, in March 2025, at identifying the best offer and signing the contract with the successful company”.

As promised, we arrived at the Vas approval of the variants, fully within the expected timescales – declares the urban planning councilor Marco Scajola – a fundamental step that will now allow the Municipality of Taggia to continue with the process and consequently the Region to approve the variations themselves. Behind every public work, from the smallest to the new hospital, there is careful urban planning work. The Liguria Region collaborated in the drafting of the planning documents, thus supporting the municipal administration and the ASL 1 Imperiese”.
