Fear a Fuorigrotta due to the failure of the road surface. Yet another chasm, about one square meter in size, opened precisely in via Barbagallo to Fuorigrottanear the well-known structure of Palapartenope.
The incident and the emergency response
After the collapse of the sewers on January 18th, always in Fuorigrotta and the five chasms at the Vomero which occurred within two months, the residents’ concern is increasing more and more. The collapse occurred around 3pm on Wednesday.
Firefighters quickly arrived in the area. The Civil Protection then secured the area, cordoning it off with red and white tape.
The municipal police have ordered the road section to be closed to traffic. At the moment it is not yet possible to identify the causes that led to the formation of the sinkhole.
