Umbria, problematic gusts: firefighters non-stop

Thursday was a complex day, and the work is destined to continue also to dispose of the ‘backlog’ for the firefighters of the provincial command of Perugia. Due to the strong wind that blew across much of the provincial territory, the 115 staff had to carry out – the data is updated as of early Thursday evening – 241 interventions with 73 still in the queue at 8.46pm. In addition to interventions that have nothing to do with the bad weather, but which have severely challenged the Perugino firefighters – from the rescue of an elderly woman in her burning house in Ponte San Giovanni (Perugia), to the fire on the roof of a house in San Savino (Magione) -, various problematic situations related to the wind arose. Such as the collapse of the roof of an industrial warehouse in Foligno and an LPG tanker that ended up off the road in the San Martino in Colle area (Burgiano road). Not to mention interventions for fallen or unsafe branches and trees. Then, in view of a Friday of super work, the 115 command of Perugia also asked for the presence of the MO.EC module (for emergency-disasters coming from outside the region) in relation to the needs that will certainly arise.
