The State Police of Avellino donates a vial of Capaci oil

The State Police of Avellino, as a sign of alliance in the defense of legality and in memory of the sacrifice of the victims of the Capaci massacre, as in the past year, donated to the Dioceses of Avellino, Ariano Irpino and Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi as well as at the Montevergine Abbey, a flask of oil produced in Capaci in a small olive grove located in the land stolen from the mafia in the so-called “garden of memory”, so that the Bishops could consecrate it in the Chrism mass of Holy Week and then use it as oil liturgical saint for priestly ordinations and confirmations.

The delivery of the ampoule took place on the 26th last when the Police Commissioner of Avellino, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Police Headquarters Dr. Rocco Rafaniello visited the Bishop of the city diocese Mons. Arturo Aiello, and subsequently the Loreto Abbey of Mercogliano where he met the Abbot Ordinary of Montevergine Mons. Luca Riccardo Guariglia.

At the same time, the gift of the ampoule containing the oil to be consecrated was made by the Director of the Commissariat of Ariano Irpino Dr. Licia Salerno to the Bishop Monsignor Sergio Melillo, while the Archbishop of Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi Monsignor Pasquale Cascio gave received a visit from the director of the Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi police station, Dr. Carmine Scognamiglio.

A symbolic ceremony that aims above all to strengthen the idea that the fruit born from the earth bathed in the blood of the martyrs of justice can become a sign of redemption.
