The green line of UAE Team Emirates again protagonist in the second stage of the Vuelta Asturias. After yesterday’s success for Isaac Del Toro, it is the Portuguese Antonio Morgado who takes the success, the success of his season after that of the Giro della Romagna six days ago. The Lusitanian wins the sprint up Albert Torres (Movistar) and Del Toro himself, who remains at the top of the general classification.

The daily attempt consists of five men: Ibon Ruiz (Equipo Kern Pharma), Milu Kinfe Hailmichael (Caja Rural-Seguros), Asier Etxeberria (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Paul Ourselin (TotalEnergies) and Eduardo Perez-Landaluce (Sidi Ali-Unlock), on a day characterized by six GPM.

The top five remain with a fairly substantial lead, but between Collada De Zardon and Alto del Torno the group, led by UAE Team Emirates, begins to shorten. The adventure of the top five ends shortly after the Collau del Valle, but Samuel Fernandez (Caja Rural-Seguros) starts on the counterattack and accumulates up to a minute of advantage.

But alone against the group it becomes difficult and the Iberian is caught again. This brings us to the final sprint, where Morgado is the fastest of all. Tomorrow the last stage with arrival in Oviedo.
