Afternoon in the park among bees, flowers, markets and entertainment. The WWF of Rovigo will implement the project “Let’s enrich the territory with honey plants” next Saturday afternoon.
The planting of honey essences such as lavender, thyme, oregano and rosemary is planned in the green areas adjacent to Via Cristoforo Colombo and in those of the Diritti dei bambini park; a shelter house for wild bees will also be installed. The aim is to enhance public green spaces and counteract the loss of bees and pollinating insects; a project chosen in October 2023 by the customers of the Coop supermarket in Viale della Pace as part of the “Più Vicini” initiative and which therefore obtained financing from the well-known large-scale retail trade group.
And drawing inspiration from the realization of this project and the fact that it concerns the familiar setting of the Children’s Rights Park, the voluntary organization Amici di Elena decided to make the afternoon more interesting and liven up the life of the neighborhood organizing an extraordinary edition of the children’s market. The offer and exchange of games, soft toys, books, stickers, newspapers, bracelets and anything else that may interest children and young people between the ages of six and fourteen and which, moreover, are also greatly appreciated by their parents, will begin at 3pm and may last until 8pm. The afternoon will also be animated by other initiatives: An afternoon at the park will in fact be an opportunity to proceed with the release of a wild bird that has received the competent and loving care of the operators of the Polesella wild animal recovery center and which, therefore, can be released back into nature.
The Friends of San Francesco of Lendinara will set up a banquet and collect games, children’s books, nappies, new bottles and pacifiers, prams, strollers, notebooks, pens and colours. All to be allocated to the needy families they assist.
The Terra Polesine Rovigo crew of the Mediterranean association Saving Humans will propose the activity called “The Intruders – A story with two endings”; an animated reading aimed at children between five and ten years old and which will end with a final mini workshop. Amici di Elena will also propose the “Stall of Sympathy” which will be set up with objects created by the children of the association as part of the activities of the Officina della Simpatia.
The active citizenship group Quartiere vivo San Pio the monetary donations collected will be used to finance the fundraiser organized by the parish to replace the church’s boiler. The children of the Smile San Pio
