Today is World Endometriosis Day, an impactful and disabling gynecological disease that especially affects women of childbearing age.
Disabling pain, but also the risk of infertility, poor quality of life are some of the consequences of a missed diagnosis.

15-20% of patients are affected by endometriosis, up to 30-50% of the disease when analyzing the population with fertility problems. “An increase in cases due to a better diagnosis for a pathology that was unknown for years” – he tells Radio Babboleo Dr. Stefano Bogliolo, director of SC Obstetrics and Gynecology – “Once upon a time, a purely surgical path was envisaged with even demolitive interventions, but today we have seen that excessive interventions may not be advantageous. We have new dedicated drugs, leaving only patients with refractory medical treatment or major injuries to surgery.”

On the occasion of World Endometriosis Day, a double appointment promoted by the SC Obstetrics and Gynecology of ASL 4 doubles. The professionals of the Structure – which has long been involved in the study and treatment of endometriosis, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team involving numerous other specialists – will be available for two days of telephone consultations and free visits aimed at citizens.

The first appointment today from 12.00 to 14.00, a doctor will be available on 0185/329656 to offer telephone consultationsanswer doubts and questions.
Again, on Monday 8 April, from 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm, the “Green Room” clinic on the 2nd floor of the Lavagna hospital will take place visits free, upon reservation required, until all ten available places are filled. To participate, you must make an appointment by calling 0185/329756, from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 to 13.00.

Since the last months of 2022 when the clinic was established, over 150 specialist services have been performed and, currently, there are around 70 patients undergoing medical/surgical treatment who undergo regular check-ups.
