“Cease-fire”. The Municipality of Fourth displays the pacifist banner on the balcony of the municipal offices overlooking Piazzale Europa, to say stop the war.
The banner was created by the “Quartoscenico” organization and used on stage, Saturday 23 March, at Corona Theatre, engraved with the message of peace: “Cease fire”. Today the banner was donated to the municipal administration so that with a single voice we can cry out to stop the conflicts taking place in the world.
“From the theater to the municipality, so that it becomes something bigger, because the duty of culture is precisely to propose, sometimes, even through a form of resistance because apparently, in such a violent historical moment, the real revolution is to be people of peace”the association says.
“Administration – he adds Quartoscenico – welcomed our gift, certain that he will make exemplary use of it, because we all have the duty to oppose the massacre that wars cause and shout out loud that we want to live in peace”.
But the initiatives of Municipality of Quarto against the war do not end here. The objective is to fill the town with slogans of peace, asking for the collaboration of commercial activities, the Church, public and private bodies and individual citizens.
So announces the mayor of Fourth Antonio Sabino: “What is happening in Gaza can no longer be kept quiet. Everyone can put up, until April 25th, a small or large banner with the words “cease fire” so that the cry of an entire city that bases its principles on peace between peoples arrives loudly and cohesively. Humanity without peace is always in danger!”.
