A twist in the trial underway in Naples on the murder of the aspiring pizza chef Francesco Pio Maimone: a witness, owner of one of the chalets located in the place where the tragedy occurred, was indicted by the Court of Assizes for perjury during the hearing, due to his omissive behavior during the hearing. “I don’t remember saying this”, “I recognize the people in the photo, they had a beer but didn’t participate in the argument”, “I don’t know who took part in the argument over the shoe” and “some were regular customers.”

Regarding Maimone’s alleged murderer, Francesco Pio Valda, the witness, Giovanni Nacarlo, owner of the «Agostino» chalet, reported having seen him for the first time on the day of the argument, which broke out due to a stomp on a pair of designer sneakers. The hearing was suspended to summon a public defender who will assist the witness. According to what a forensic police officer reported during the hearing, the shot that killed Francesco Pio Maimone was fired from a distance of 15 meters and not in the air.
