Guatemala City, Guatemala – March 2024 – The National Preferential Option Meeting of works and social services serving young people in situations of vulnerability and exclusion took place at the Oratory of the “Miguel Magone” Youth Center in Guatemala City of the Salesian presences in Guatemala. From the Missionary Works, Oratories and Professional Training Centers of different parts of the country, 52 young leaders and 57 educators and animators spoke to reflect on the theme “Faith and Commitment”. The meeting took place with three objectives: to become aware of the profound relationship that must exist between faith and justice in one’s life and in one’s Educational-Pastoral Community; deepen the knowledge of some social facts that concern the relationship between faith and justice; better understand some aspects of social reality that especially affect young people. These meetings allow us to continue dreaming as Don Bosco did with his young people to accompany them in their various processes of growth and commitment to faith, in the transformation of their lives and their environments with a heart that transforms “wolves” into “lambs”. ”.
