POMEZIA – The Libertas National Karate Championship took place in Pomezia. Athletes from all over Italy walked on the tatami of the Roman sports hall. Two days of karate of the highest technical profile where the most important martial societies aspire to the national podium. For the occasion the Apuan team of Tempio Massimo could not be missing. Complicated trip for the coach from Massa, the sixth dan Maestro Massimo Serrao who bet everything on the golden Apuano Serrao Giacomo Felice. The Apuan black belt prevailed over a large number of very well-prepared peers who did not bother the Massa native’s path. Gold medal therefore for Giacomo who confirms his talent after the bronze at the Acsi nationals in Cervia.

The seventeen-year-old, son of an artist, also amazed the referees who at the end of the match complimented him on his excellent performance. In October he will receive, in Naples, the honors of the national Libertas which will reward all the gold medals of all the categories of the championship, in an exceptional ceremony with the most important Italian sports leaders. The Tempio Maximus at the national top is aiming for the World Championships which will take place next September in England. There are many sponsors who want to support Giacomo, but coach Serrao prefers to give space to local or even Tuscan realities.
