Grosseto This morning, after a moment of joyful brotherhood and sharing, the tradition of the delivery by the Commissioner of Grosseto was renewed, Antonio Mannonito the Bishop of Massa Marittima-Piombino, Monsignor Carlo Ciattini, of an ampoule of oil obtained from the fruits of the olive trees that grow in the place where thirty-two years ago, on 23 May 1992, the terrible mafia massacre in Capaci (Palermi), in which judge Giovanni Falcone lost his life together with his wife Francesca Morvillo and the three escort agents Antonio Montinaro, Vito Schifani and Rocco Dicillo.
There today stands an olive grove looked after by the association Fourth Savona 15 (radio theme song of the escort car), animated by Tina Montinaro, widow of the escort leader, who in recent days is carrying the case containing the remains of the escort car around all of Italy, (in Grosseto on 19 March ) in order to spread anti-mafia culture among young people and encourage them to follow the value of legality and the sense of duty that animated the policemen killed by the mafia, while they were escorting judge Falcone.
Capaci oil will be added to the oil of our lands, blessed and consecrated on the occasion of the celebration of Chrism Mass which will be held today, Thursday 28 March, in the cathedral of San Cerbone, in Massa Marittima, presided over by Bishop Carlo and the priests of the Diocese, which will be followed by the distribution of the holy oil, which can be used during the year for the anointing in baptisms, confirmations, for the sick and for sacred orders.
