The new Trek Madone Gen 8 presented today, it retires both the old “Emonda” and the Madone Gen 7 launched in 2022.
Even Trek, like Specialized and other brands, therefore, abandons the distinction between climbing bikes and aero bikes to focus on a unique model light and aerodynamic enough to be used on any route.
According to Trek, in fact, the Madone SLR Gen 8 represents the definitive bike: slightly heavier than the Emonda SLR (765 g versus 698 g for the unpainted frame alone), but with aerodynamic performance similar to the Madone SLR Gen 7.
