The case continues to be discussed Dr Disrespectthe famous streamer who recently ended up at the center of the debate due to the emergence of the alleged reasons that led to his kicked out of Twitch and which now seems to have led to his departure from Midnight Societythe development studio he founded.
The issue would focus on some sexual messages that Guy Beahm, the streamer known as Dr Disrespect, allegedly sent to a minor via the private communications function on Twitch. According to the (alleged) accusation, the character in question would have sent these messages to a minor person through Twitch Whispers, also arranging to meet at TwitchCon.
This would have led to his removal from Twitch and would have triggered the chain reaction that also led to his exit from Midnight Society, the development team also created by Dr Disrespect and which is working on a new shooter.
The message of Midnight Society
“Last Friday we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founders, Guy Beahm aka Dr Disrespect,” reads the team’s post explaining the incident. “We presumed his innocence and got in touch with the parties involved and, for maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we had to act.”
“For this reason, we have ended our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately. While these facts are difficult to hear and even accept, it is our duty to act with dignity on the side of all individuals involved, especially the 55 developers and their families, as well as the gaming community.”
It must be underlined that, at the moment, there are no legal measures against Dr Disrespect and there are no precise official communications on the matter, nor in fact evidence against him, but the Midnight Society message suggests that the developers have become aware of something more precise. In any case, after leaving the scene from Twitch the streamer has now also lost the connection with his video game development initiative.
