Model making: Fiat Ritmo Abarth 125 TC, the fast cousin

Proportions ok. At first glance the model is faithful, and the details are proportionate to the price. In the front view the aggressive appearance stands out, with the large bumper that integrates the grille and the well-made light clusters: the same thing for the position lights and direction indicators. The graphics show some irregularitiesespecially in the black profile that “surrounds” the car.

Not openable. In closed die-cast models analyzingthe “escapes” of the bodywork, i.e. the distances that separate the sheet metal, we note that those of the bonnet, for example, are not precise, as you can see from the photos in the gallery. Regardless of the cost-effectiveness of the model, these are rather obvious errors, which could have been easily avoided. A shame.

Details. In the queue, the part of the interesting spoilers which, as in the real car, echoed, in a cantilevered manner, the lower shape of the rear window: a solution that was probably more aesthetic than functional, as on the opposite side we find the abundance of plastic that characterized the bumpers. The rims are well made, the tires are average, while the interior is convincingalbeit without too many details.

With a little more effort… A very interesting model, which perhaps would have deserved some more attention: also because, probably, collectors would have willingly spent even more significant sums to have the Ritmo Abarth 125 TC. There are three colors available in total from MCG: Grey, like the one in the images, Red and Black, the latter two being more “difficult”, but not impossible, to find in shops.
