Here is Eureka J20, a floor cleaning robot different from the others

The evolution of automatic home cleaning systems has made great strides in recent years. Eureka J20 is now giving a further boost to the sectora robot that can vacuum dust and wash floors, but in a different way from other similar devices currently available on the market.
This is thanks to roller floor washing system and the double water tank installed directly in the robot, to always wash floors with clean water. Two solutions that are not found in other models and which allow the J20 to stand out from the crowd.

Simple to install and configure

The Eureka J20 sales package includes, in addition to the robot, also the charging base, the side brush, a spare washing cloth, a bottle of floor detergent and the classic instruction manuals, which clearly explain how to install the device, also in Italian.

Speaking of installation, this is very simple and everything passes through the Eureka application. First you need to connect the base to the power supply and insert the robot inside, then just connect it to the home network and you are immediately ready to start mapping the environment. This process is carried out in total autonomy by the robot, which thanks to its sensors is able to make an accurate map of the house, including any obstacles.
The map obviously acts as a basis for navigation, in case the robot encounters new obstacles along the way these are immediately detected and bypassed, maneuvering well even in narrow spaces. This is possible thanks to the good combination between the front laser sensors and the Lidar, which allow the robot to get very close to the edges of the rooms and any objects it finds along the way.

The base has everything you need

The overall build quality is good, both for the robot and the base. Inside there are two tanks for clean and dirty water, as well as a dust storage bag.

The two tanks have a capacity of 3.5 liters of water while the bag can contain up to 3 liters of powder, which Eureka estimated around 75 days of use. Also in the base is the container with the washing liquid, which is automatically added to the clean water before starting the robot. Obviously you don’t have to use it, you can always manually pour the detergent into the clean water tank in the base to achieve the same result. The base also deals with automatic cleaning of the washing cloth, which is dried with air at 45 degrees to prevent annoying odors; It also has an advantage over other models, i.e. the small dimensionswhich make it easier to place it at home.

A robot different from the others

However, it is in the robot that there are the most interesting elements, because it manages to differentiate itself from other models thanks to two unique solutions of their kind. The first is noticeable at first glance and is the washing roller, called RollRenew Mopping system.

In other robots you usually find two separate brushes, which do not have the same cleaning surface and are also less effective in cleaning any liquids on the floor. This system works well and leaves fewer streaks during cleaning, although a lot depends on the type of floor on which it is used.

The robot applies continuous pressure while washing, which allows it to eliminate rather stubborn stains. The solution designed by Eureka for carpets is interesting: the cleaning roller of the J20 in fact has a part that does not absorb water and when a carpet is detected the roller stops in this area. In this way the carpets are not wet, without the need to manually detach the rollerwhich can thus proceed to vacuum the dust thanks to a power of 8000 pa and the central brush located under the robot.
The second innovative solution of this robot is then hidden inside, thanks to the presence of two water tanks, one with clean water and the other with dirty water.

Unlike other models where the washing cloth is wetted at the base, here the clean water is stored directly in the robot; this ensures that the J20 always uses fresh water for cleaning, avoiding spreading dirty water on the floor, solving a typical deficiency of standard cleaning robots.
The entire cleaning process can be managed easily via a dedicated application, which still requires optimal translation while remaining perfectly usable. However, Eureka assured us that the Italian translation will be improved in future versions of the application. From here you can customize the automatically created map by adding areas where the robot must not go, or virtual walls not to be crossed. Different cleaning times can be set based on the rooms and the cleaning itself can be personalized. For example, it is possible to vacuum up dust without washing the floor, or decide how much water to use to avoid unnecessary waste.

Eureka J20 is sold in Italy at a price of 1199 euros on Amazon, a high figure but in line with other similar products. Its strong point is certainly the floor washing system, different from that of other robot vacuum cleaners, with the central roller and the use of clean water for washing, configuring itself as a valid alternative in the increasingly rich world of robots for household cleaning.
