Samsung is rolling out the June 2024 security patch, which promises to fix numerous vulnerabilities, and the update One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy M14 5G in India. Both of these updates represent significant steps to improve the security and functionality of Galaxy smartphones.
Security patch June 2024: improvements and fixes
Samsung has released details about the June 2024 security patch, which includes fixes for 53 vulnerabilities. Of these, 40 were provided by Google and 13 by Samsung. The fixes include 37 issues classified as high priority and a fix for a bug already fixed in the May 2024 patch. Two of the fixes offered by Google do not apply to Galaxy devices. Samsung has identified 13 vulnerability specifications for their devices, with one classified as critical and four as high priority. On Samsung’s security site, eight of the fixes are listed as moderate.
The June 2024 security update is expected to start rolling out to most high-end Galaxy smartphones in the next few days. However, availability may vary between regions, with high-end devices receiving the update before mid- and low-end devices.
One UI 6.1 Update Rollout for Galaxy M14 5G
Samsung is continuing to roll out the One UI 6.1 update to more smartphones as we get closer to the launch Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, which will introduce version 6.1.1 of One UI. The Galaxy M14 5G is the latest smartphone to receive the One UI 6.1 update. This update is currently rolling out in India and can be identified by the build number M146BXXU5CXE2. The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy M14 5G is identical to the one released a few days ago for the Galaxy F14 5G, as the two phones are identical aside from the name.
The LTE model of the Galaxy M14 has not yet received the update, but this is expected to happen soon. Users can download the update by going to
Settings » Software Update and selecting the Download and Install option.
One UI 6.1 introduces a number of new features, including new background decoration options (frames and effects), additional lock screen widgets, more informative weather widgets, the ability to share with multiple Android devices, passkey support in Samsung Internet, more battery protection options, and improved search in the Gallery app. The changelog complete is available on the Samsung website.
