Publisher DotEmu and development team Leikir announced today the period of release of Metal Slug Tacticsthe strategy-style adaptation of SNK’s famous scrolling shooter series, transformed rather profoundly into a different genre, coming to PC and consoles this fall.

For the occasion, a new one was also published trailer showing the gameplay in more detail by Metal Slug Tactics, which is very interesting because it manages to recapture the original characteristics and atmospheres but moving them into a decidedly different context.

Not only that: one of the new features also emerged demo of the game, will be released on PC on the occasion of the Steam Next Fest, which will be held from 10 to 17 June on the Valve store, thus allowing you to directly try a preliminary version of the strategy.

From shooter to turn-based strategy

Metal Slug Tactics takes the comic universe of the historic SNK series and relaunches it in a new perspective.

As seen in the trailer above, they are the center of attention turn-based strategic battles with an isometric view typical of the genre in its Japanese sense.

The characterization remains faithful to the original, with humorous elements that tone down the considerable amount of violence staged, but the entire mechanics of the game are profoundly different: some specific elements such as animations, scenario construction and character sprites remain, but the game it is fundamentally different.

The new trailer only increases expectations for Metal Slug Tactics, which really seems to have managed to take a historic franchise and transform it into a new type of game, but at this point we are also waiting to be able to try the demo on Steam to be able to have the clearer ideas.

Announced at E3 2021, Metal Slug Tactics is getting closer to release and we can’t wait to experience it.
