Ikea high chair, there is a problem for those who purchased it: what to do immediately

An Ikea high chair is proving to be very dangerous for families who use it: what the problem is and how to avoid it.

Ikea is famous for always essential and functional design of its products. The Swedish company has always had an eye for the safety, especially when it comes to creating and selling products aimed at children.

The commitment to safety is mainly expressed in choice of safe and non-toxic materials, but also in designing designs that avoid dangerous behaviors or situations for the little ones. It is no coincidence, for example, that all Ikea shelf furniture, like the tallest bookcases, are always sold with special hooks to fix them to the wall and thus prevent the furniture from falling onto children if they try to climb it.

Despite all the attention paid to the design of children’s furniture by Ikea, errors are always lurking, as the many families who have purchased an Ikea high chair and have bitterly regretted the purchase have experienced.

Antlop: IKEA’s most dangerous high chair

Antlop is a high chair in plastic and metal which has earned a place among Ikea’s best-selling products. It is in fact a very light product, easily washable and extremely low cost, since it only costs 19.95 Euros.

The plastic seat obviously has a belt to harness the child and prevent the high chair from overturning or falling from it when it moves. For further improve product stability the designers chose to design the legs so that they protrude outwards, offering the high chair a wider, more solid and therefore (at least hypothetically) safer base.

The problem is that, if in terms of stability Antlop is an excellent product for the child sitting on it, it is much less so for the adults who walk around the high chair. Indeed it is very easy to trip in the metal structure due to the legs protruding several centimeters compared to the size of the upper part of the high chair.

It is therefore about a product perhaps to be avoided in very small houses, because with little space available you will very often risk walking past the high chair and tripping over its legs. He then advises you to place the high chair in a corner or at least against a wall, so that the size of the various legs is limited by the walls, which will thus be able to protect us from possible (and very probable) falls.
