7 Days to Die: version 1.0 will only be released on PC, while the console versions will have to be repurchased
Descriptive text here

A few days ago the arrival of the version 1.0 of zombie survival 7 Days to Die. After about twelve years of waiting for those who purchased it in Early Access, this is certainly good news. It’s a shame that the game will only be finished on PC, given that on console it will instead be removed from sale and will have to be repurchased on the new consoles, incidentally PS5 and Xbox Series Consider that we are not talking about a promised and never released game, but about one available for PS4 and Xbox One since 2016.

The official FAQ explains the controversial strategy. Naturally, those who already owned the game didn’t like the news. Let’s try to explain ourselves better: the users PS4 and Xbox One who purchased the incomplete and buggy version in Early Access will have to buy the game again for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S if they want to play version 1.0 (perhaps with a discount, if Sony and Microsoft accept). The versions for old consoles will not be updated, due to declared technical problems, and will no longer be purchasable. Those who own them will be able to continue playing the incomplete versions.

It’s really a great way to spread the culture ofearly access on consoles. It is true that purchasing a game still in development presupposes a certain level of risk even for those who spend the money, but given that here we have reached version 1.0 and development will continue in the future, at least the game could have been given as a gift to those had supported him in unsuspecting times, instead of forcing him to buy it back.

What the official FAQs say

Those who supported the game on console will find themselves with an arrow stuck in their knee

Let’s read what the official FAQ says about the old console versions:

Question: What will happen to the old console version?
Answer: Due to significant technical differences between older and current consoles, we will not update the legacy version. Owners of the legacy version will need to purchase the new title. However, we are working closely with Sony and Microsoft to offer one discount to owners of the digital legacy version on the purchase of the new console edition.

We made the decision early on to focus on a “new” version of the game unified with the PC version, and our efforts to update the game after launch will be entirely focused on that version.

Question: What will happen to the availability of the old console version?
Answer: To avoid product and branding confusion, we will remove the legacy console version from digital stores when the new version is released. You will still be able to play the old copy if you own it, but you will not be able to purchase more copies of the legacy version.

Question: Will I be able to use my saves from the old version on the new version?
Answer: No. Of course, you can continue to use your old saves on the Legacy version if it is installed, but the saves will not carry over as they are not compatible with the many new changes.

In short, only bad news for those who have supported 7 Days to Die on consoles up to now.
