The 2024 line up of Sony Bravia TVs focuses heavily on Mini LEDs

Sony presented the TV lineup for 2024 also introducing some surprises. After years at the top in the production of televisions that are also excellent for gaming, this year the Japanese company has focused mainly on the renewal of the Mini LED models, without forgetting to refresh its roster of OLED panels.

In addition to the Bravia 9 that you see in the image above, in fact, Sony has unveiled Bravia 8, a TV with a traditional OLED screen which joins last year’s QD-OLED model, the A95L. But it’s clear that the Mini LEDs are the real center of attention, given the use of the XR Backlight Master Drive system to control the LEDs, the same used for its master monitors.

And the results promise to be extraordinary. Sony claims that the new Bravia 9 is not only 50% brighter than the already very bright X95L, but also features 325% more dimming zones. Thinking of the excellent blacks of its predecessor, we are eager to see the new model in action too.

But to give substance to the motto “cinema is coming home” one TV alone is not enough, so let’s proceed with a slightly more detailed overview of the line up.

Well done 9

Of the Well done 9 we’ve already talked about it at length, but this year’s top-of-the-range Mini LED TV has a couple of other goodies under its belt. Besides bonuses like “X-Wide Angle” for a better viewing angle and the anti-reflection system called “X-Anti Reflection”, the TV comes with a pair of tweeters to support a multi-audio system which should be as by tradition superior to that of the competition. Added to this is support for Dolby Vision and two calibrated image modes to optimize images on platforms: we are specifically talking about Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode and Prive Video Calibrated Mode.

Just as the price will be higher than the competition: the list price of the 65″ Bravia 9 is in fact $3,299.99, while the 75 and 85-inch models rise to $3,999.99 and $5,499.99 respectively.
