For the 75th anniversary of Abarth a special model, the 1300 OT

To celebrate the 75 years of Abarth, the Stellantis Heritage team has decided to celebrate this anniversary with two significant tributes: one exhibition set up inside the Heritage Hub in which the significant stages of the House of Scorpio and the “Abarth Classiche 1300 OT” project.

As regards the exhibition, the display is made up of 12 cars placed at the entrance to the museum complex and another 26 cars scattered throughout the Heritage Hub. Among the 12 cars in the “front row” we find, for example, the first 500 that Carlo Abarth developed, conquering six speed and endurance records on the Monza circuit in 1958. Not even the brand new Abarth 695 75th Anniversario is missing, which pays homage to the history of the Scorpion and the 1.4 T-Jet engine. The exhibition will be open to the public for approximately three months, starting today 12 April, and will be included in the Heritage Hub tour ticket.

CLASSIC ABARTH 1300 OT

Then there is this new project embodied in the 1:3 scale style model exhibited at the celebratory exhibition. We are talking about a car designed by Heritage for pay homage to the Fiat-Abarth OT 1300 of the past. This special edition, included within the Heritage project “Reloaded by Creators”, will allow enthusiasts to get their hands on a reinterpretation of an iconic car from the 1960s.

As told by the Stellantis Heritage team, the model of the past, based on a modification of the Fiat 850, was characterized by its agility and power. It featured a fiberglass body and a later-fitted “periscope” badge for cabin cooling.

Therefore, today Stellantis has decided to create a reinterpretation of this car from the past. Mechanically, the car is based on the Abarth Classiche 1000 SP project. The bodywork, now made of carbon fibre, once again introduces the characteristic “periscope” of the historic car, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. We then have a slotted plexiglass rear window for cooling and the large rear grille for the engine compartment, characterized by the “Abarth” lettering. The front is reminiscent of the Abarth sports cars of the past, with generous openings dedicated to cooling.

This special model will be made in 5 copies and can already be ordered. Interested parties can visit the Heritage website for more information.
