On the occasion of the XXXVI edition of the Turin International Book Fair, the Biella Civic Library and the Cooperativa Solidarietà e Lavoro, in collaboration with the Biella Literary Festival , are pleased to present the book “L’ultimo Pinguino delle Langhe” (Rizzoli, 2024) by the author Orso Tosco, which will be held in the Sala Arancio Pavilion 2. The meeting will be moderated by the writer Raffaele Riba with the support of Valentina Magni, LIS (Italian Sign Language) interpreter, whose presence underlines the The attention of all the organizers in ensuring the accessibility of the proposed events.

Orso Tosco’s new novel bursts onto the scene of Italian noir, introducing a character with very human contradictions: cynical and sensitive, rough and thoughtful, violent and very sweet, tragic and involuntarily comic. Commissioner Gualtiero Bova is called the “penguin” due to his unathletic physique and his love for swimming, even in the winter season. Characterized by a supreme intelligence, he will lead the investigations for a very crude and singular case of discovery: during a morning run a rich Swiss broker comes across the naked corpse of a girl on which he discovers to his horror, his name written in blood. along with a swastika.

Orso Tosco is a writer, poet and screenwriter. Born in Ospedaletti on Christmas Eve 1982.

His books include London voodoo (minimum fax 2022) and Nanga Parbat. Obsession and the naked mountain (66THAND2ND 2023). The last penguin of the Langhe is his new book (Nero Rizzoli 2024).

In dialogue with the author, Raffaele Riba, who has published numerous stories in miscellanies, magazines and school anthologies. Author of three novels: A day to undo (2014), Be afraid (2015) and The custody of deep skies (2018). He currently teaches at the Holden School and works as an editor and program curator of festivals and fairs (including Scrittorincittà and Book Pride).
