Giro Next Gen 2023, presented the route of the new Giro d’Italia Under 23: we reach the top of the Stelvio!

Giro Next Gen is the new name of the Giro d’Italia Giovani, in the past also Giro U23, Giro Baby, Giro Bio. Yet another rebranding for the stage race reserved for under 23s which will be staged from 11 to 18 June. There are eight decidedly varied stages: an individual time trial, two uphill finishes, two days for sprinters, three mixed stages.

It will start with a time trial in Agliè (9.4 km with a slightly uphill finish), then followed by the moving fraction of Cherasco with big climbs from La Morra and Novello. The third stage should include the announced group sprint in Magenta, while the fourth day proposes the legendary uphill finish at the Stelvio Pass (Cima Coppi).

Do not underestimate the stage of Manerba del Garda with the Tre Termini Pass and the Sant’Eusebio Pass, followed by the arrival for sprinters of Povegliano. The seventh stage will end at the top of Pian del Campo where you have tackled the climbs of Nevegal and Malga Cate. Closure in Trieste not to be underestimated before crowning the victor.

It will be a Giro Next Gen entirely in the North, given that only Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia will be crossed. Below is the route and altimetrics of the Giro Next Gen 2023, presented today by RCS Sport, former organizer of the Giro d’Italia for professionals which will start on Saturday 6 May.
