Plot twist in Formula 1, the hypothesis of a penalty makes Ferrari happy: this changes everything
The success of Monte Carlo is now behind us but at Ferrari the atmosphere seems to have changed again after the lackluster qualifying in Montreal.
However, the season is long and situations could soon prove favorable and more. It is for this reason that Frederic Vasseur, after the necessary celebrations, preached calm. He will need the best at his disposal, and perhaps more, to hope to intimidate world champion Max Verstappen until the end. From this point of view, the Grand Prix in Austria seems to be a real point of no return for the Maranello team, in search of important confirmations to reverse a string of disappointments that has been going on for weeks.

The Austrian track, however, does not seem to highlight the characteristics of the ‘Red’ as much, as it struggled to keep up with the Red Bulls and Mercedes in the first free practice sessions. A further aspect to take into consideration, however, concerns the implementation of the track limits with which the FIA has decided to prevent those irregularities which in recent years had essentially gone unnoticed.
As reported by the information provided to the track, in fact, the FIA has opted to install a 2.5 meter wide strip of putrid material; which is added to the kerb at the exit of turns 9 and 10 and on turn 4. As if that were not enough, the white line near the curve has also been moved in such a way as to reduce the distance from the gravel to less than two meters. These are measures that, feared for some time, have only been made official in recent days. A new scenario for the track, in essence, which the drivers will certainly have to take into account to avoid incurring harmful penalties both during qualifying and especially in the race. We will see what happens.
