It was Sergio Meris who won the first stage victory yesterday Tour of Veneto 2024, which had the prologue and the first fraction removed due to weather. Here are the details of stage number 3, which will be run between the provinces of Vicenza and Treviso.
Path
The stage will start from Roman of Ezzelino to head straight for the mountains. There will immediately be three GPMs: Dante’s Hill, Col Roigoe Madonna of the Water. Then the great ascent will begin up to Grappa Crespano. The descent will lead to the flying finish line of Possession and to that of Cornuda after several kilometers. From the finish line interlap of Arcade the route will be all flat and after Porcellengo you will pass under the finish line to enter a 10.3 kilometre circuit Saint AmbroseThe finish line is at Badoerefraction of Morgano.
Favorites
A route like this suggests that, since the altimetric difficulties are all in the first part of the race, the compact group will arrive at the finish line in a sprint. An opportunity therefore for the fast wheels that know how to handle the climbs without tiring too much. It could be a good stage for Riccardo Paraniper Nicholas Rossi or for Samuel Forty. Also pay attention to Simone Carrò which could be the surprise of this stage.
