Sunday 30 June will be the deadline for sending applications to access the project that combines sport and educationborn from the collaboration between Macerata Volleyball and Macerata Bank. The initiative is in its second edition and is aimed at all students of the Schools of Macerata and is entitled to Paolo Mercuri, a friend of Macerata Volleyball, scout man and red and white coach, who tragically passed away three years ago.
The “Paolo Mercuri” Sports and School Scholarship provides for the awarding of two scholarships, each worth 500 euros, intended for students involved in sports, who have distinguished themselves for the results obtained at school and in sports activities in the 2023/2024 school year. All students enrolled in the First and Second Grade Secondary Schools of the Municipality of Macerata who are athletes, amateurs or professionals, of any category of one or more sports, regularly registered with a sports company or association recognized by Coni, and who have participated in sports activities at least in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 school years will have access to the “Paolo Mercuri” Sports and School Scholarship.
The assignment criteria will take into account academic performance for the 2023/2024 school year, sports results and conduct both at school and during sports practice. The assignment of the two scholarships will be divided into one scholarship for a male or female student of one of the Lower Secondary Schools of the Municipality of Macerata, and one scholarship for a male or female student of one of the Upper Secondary Schools. The prizes will consist of Gift Cards that can be spent in all the shops of the Val di Chienti Shopping Centre in Piediripa di Macerata.
The initiative was created with the aim of supporting and encouraging sport among young people, reconciling competitive sports practice with study activities. In fact, behavior in both areas, scholastic and sporting, will also constitute a further selection criterion. The winners of the project will be announced by October 2024 at the registered office of Banca Macerata, in Contrada Acquevive 20/A in Macerata.
To participate in the awarding of the “Paolo Mercuri” sports and school scholarships, students must submit the application using the form on the website www.pallavolomacerata.it or www.bancamacerata.it, supplemented by the required documentation.
